A little history…
The new Interactive Museum of Las Condes is located in the former Casona Barros, one of the last original houses in the El Golf neighborhood. Built by the architect Carlos Cruz Eyzaguirre between 1943 and 1945, it was the home of the Barros Subercaseux family until the 1970s when it was acquired by the Municipality of Las Condes. During the eighties and nineties it was occupied by the Local Police Courts and the Civil Registry. And in 2012, the Municipality decided to allocate this space to a new cultural project, for which it renewed its architecture, restored the original façade and the gardens of the house, giving way to the Interactive Museum.
What to see in the MUI?
If you are in the Museum, you cannot miss the 4D movie theater, an experience that will make all your senses work simulating that you are going in a spaceship to discover the Solar System. All the activities make use of different technological, audiovisual and interactive resources designed to amuse, excite, guide and enrich the experience of children and families who visit the place.
