Los Reyes Park

Green areas, skatepark, multipurpose courts and much more you will find in this urban park.

This Park covers 31 hectares, which is present in the center of Santiago and connects the Mapocho neighborhood with the communes of Quinta Normal, Renca and Independencia. In it you can find all kinds of activities. Sports, commerce and art are part of this space that is one of the great points of interest in the Chilean capital.

A little history ...

In 1992, under the government of President Patricio Aylwin, this park was inaugurated as a commemoration of the 500 years of the discovery of America and reviving a part of Santiago that had become a landfill. But the history of this point of interest in the capital goes back much further, during the 30s, due to the crisis of World War II, the first Persian market in Chile was located there, something that resurfaced in the 80s and later after its inauguration.

What to do in Los Reyes Park?

There are many activities you can do in this urban park, from playing sports, enjoying art, exploring its Persian or simply walking through its 31 hectares.

Inaugurated in 2005, here you will find one of the main skateparks in the country with 2.000 m2 of bowls ready to practice sports such as skateboarding, BMX, rollerblades and more.

For soccer fans, to the west of the park we find baby soccer fields and a natural grass soccer field, as well as exercise machines. In addition, there is the National Sports Institute that offers activities such as entertaining dance, aerobox, gymnastics, among others.

For those who enjoy walks and the outdoors, one of the must-sees is the Laguna del Parque de Los Reyes, which is located between the skatepark and the Mapocho Station.

Cultural activities are an important part of the park, here we can find the Foundation of Youth and Children's Orchestras of Chile, the Balmaceda Arte Joven Cultural Center and different exhibitions and interventions in the Plaza del Siglo XX. One of the must-sees is the Perrera Arte Cultural Experimental Center, located to the west of the park and which was formerly a municipal kennel.
