Hop On Hop Off Stop: Funicular

Hop On Hop Off Stop: Funicular A Heritage Elevator Ride

This stop Hop On Hop Off connects you with the spectacular Santiago Funicular, located in the largest Urban Park in Latin America and the green lung of Santiago, the Parquemet (Metropolitan Park), better known as “Cerro San Cristóbal”. Funicular was declared a Historical Monument in 2000, due to the value of its complex cable transportation system and its importance as a heritage element of Santiago.

Its entrance through Pío Nono stands out for being a large neoclassical castle designed by the renowned architect Luciano Kulczewski and the carts, recently remodeled, climb about 500 meters up the side of the hill until they reach the summit of San Cristóbal.

What to see at the Santiago Funicular stop?

It is definitely worth getting on one of the cars and enjoying the great view of the city. The intermediate station reaches the National Zoo and the next to Estación Cumbre, where there are many attractions, such as the Mirador Terraza Bellavista, the Sanctuary of the Virgin Immaculate Conception, and to get the full experience, we recommend trying the classic peach and barley drink.

From Funicular, you can connect with Cableway o Panoramic Buses to continue the trip through other attractions of the great green lung of the capital.
