Santiago Funicular Zoo Station is the intermediate stop, which leaves you at the door of the National Zoo located in Parquemet.
Getting off at the Funicular Zoo Station is an excellent panorama to go with the family. At this stop, visitors will be able to tour this large space and find different species of animals belonging to native Chilean fauna, such as: flamingos, condor, Colo Colo cat, guanaco and others. You will also be able to get up close and personal with animals belonging to exotic fauna, such as: giraffe, lion, elephant, hippopotamus and more. To enrich the visitor experience, the National Zoo offers an extensive program of exhibitions and public talks, activities for school groups and special events on important dates of the year.
The National Zoo is a space that manages the highest standards of animal management in Chile, it has its own veterinary clinic, nutrition center, and training and environmental enrichment programs. Additionally, wildlife is promoted through conservation and research programs and they receive rescued animals in their clinic.
The mission of this center is to inspire you to experience diversity and reconnect people with nature, through recreational experiences that inspire them to respect, protect and conserve biodiversity. In addition, the National Zoo is endorsed by prestigious international organizations such as the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) and the Latin American Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums (ALPZA).
